A 63-year old taxi driver was found murdered next to his taxi left on a road in Muang district of Samut Sakhon on Sunday morning.

Residents living in Village Two, Tambon Kalong, found an abandoned yellow-green colored taxi on the old Ekachai road and then the body of a man, believed to be a taxi driver, lying with his face down in the roadside bushes. A large pool of blood was found on the driver’s seat.

A police team from Bang Torat police station was rushed to the scene after being alerted of the murder by some of the residents.

Police said that the victim, identified as Saneh Pinthamnak, had his throat slit and he appeared to have died from this serious wound to the throat. Some small changes and a ring which looks like gold and a steering wheel lock were found near the victim’s body.

Police further suspected robbery of being the motive of the murder and there might be more than one perpetrator.
Police said they would examine footages from surveillance cameras at the crime scene and from surrounding areas to try to identify the perpetrators.
