Sleeping actor dies after living in coma for 35 years

Former popular film actor in the eighties Anochow Yodbutr who was left in coma after a car accident during a film shooting in 1983 died peacefully on Wednesday at home in Bangkok.

Anochow was rushed to hospital in Chiang Mai after he fell from a moving jeep during the filming of a movie “Rak Gan Wan La Nid” on October 30, 1983.

He was left in coma for 35 years after the accident.

He was 59 today.

Relatives said a funeral rites will be held at Wat Phra Sri Mahathat in Bang Khen today until March 27 when cremation will be held.

Anochow was left under care by his elder sister since 2012 after his mother died that year after caring for his sleeping son for 30 years.

His mother Amphai Yadbutr had been honoured by Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali as “outstanding mother” in 2002 after winning award of mother with diligence and patience in taking good care of her sick son for over 28 years.
