Kalasin provincial police commander Charunpong said that he ordered a panel to be set up in order to mete out disciplinary action against Pol Lt-Col Dulyathanu.
But while the disciplinary probe is yet to start, he found it necessary to dismiss the officer temporarily because his alleged offence was regarded as a gross disciplinary violation.
Kamcha-I police were also ordered to expand their investigation as more people were believed to be involved in the drug trade besides the four suspects already apprehended, including Pol Lt-Col Dulyathanu.
