An 81-year old man was shot dead in his house in Tha Yang district of Petchaburi allegedly by his own son on Saturday evening.
Police arrived at the crime scene in Ban Nong Jaengon Saturday night and found the victim, identified as Mr Prasert Tang-on, lying dead in the house in a poll of blood.
Police said that the victim was shot with a 9mm pistol four times. Four spent shells were found at the house.
Police were told by witnesses in the house that, prior to the shooting, Mr Prasert, was seen beating up his wife, Mrs Aree.
Their son, Mr Ratchata, who saw the beating, grabbed a handgun and opened fire at his own father before escaping.
Earlier during the day, Mr Prasert and Mrs Aree presided over a wedding ceremony of their daughter at the house.
Mr Ratchata later turned himself into police. He also was interrogated by police for the actual motive of the fatal shooting.
