Southbound train services return normal today
Written by Thailand News

The State Railways of Thailand (SRT) announced today (March 2) that all southbound trains from Bangkok to the Deep South and vise versa have returned normal after two train derailments in the South have been fixed and lines open.

It said all trains from Bangkok to Narathiwat resume as usual today on schedules after railway mechanics could fix the derailment of a freight train No 1552 near Bang klam railway station in Songkhla province and open the line back to service since late last night.

The derailment of the freight train on the main southern rail route stranded thousands of passengers from Bangkok to the Deep South and vise versa yesterday.

By late last night, several hundreds of passengers stranded at Hat Yai railway station left on Bangkok bound trains after having to wait for several hours for the line clearance.

The last train left Hat Yai railway station at 11 pm instead of in the evening.
