Lion Fight Promotions, a worldwide leader in Muay Thai combat, has added four more bouts, including a title showdown, to the Lion Fight 42 card slated for Saturday, April 21st at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

The organization’s recently announced North American title belt classification will see another new champion crowned as California’s Eddie Abasolo (9-1) takes on Amadeu Cristiano (52-17), a native of Brazil who now lives in Boston, for the middleweight crown. It is the second North American title bout featured on the Lion Fight 42 roster as Cristiano’s teammate Steve Walker will take on Olivier Fairtex for continental supremacy at super cruiserweight.

Tickets for Lion Fight 42 go on sale Friday, March 2 at www.foxwoods.com/Lion-Fight-42. Broadcast details for Lion Fight 42 will also be forthcoming.

Abasolo has posted back-to-back impressive victories under the Lion Fight banner. Last April, he scored a fourth-round TKO victory over PJ Sweda, and then followed that up this past November in London, England, by notching a dominating five-round decision win over Jersey Pinto and earning the Fighter of the Night award in the process.

Cristiano, who has faced foes throughout the world, is coming off a clear-cut decision victory Lion Fight 36 over D.C. Pratt.

In a featured super featherweight matchup, Amine “The Moroccan Freak” Ballafrikh looks to move up the ranks as he meets promotional newcomer Nick Haines.

Ballafrikh (9-5) has come through with two solid performances of late inside the Lion Fight ring, including a stoppage win over Johncy Lindor. He did suffer a loss in his last outing but turned in a valiant effort moving down in weight to challenge MTGP featherweight champ Dean James. Across the ring from the Moroccan-born Ballafrikh will be Haines (10-5), who fights out of New York City and will be making his debut with Lion Fight after several bouts in Thailand with the famed Rajadamnern Stadium and Channel 7 promotions.

In a pro prelim bout, rising lightweight prospect Mike Triana, who fight out of Worcester, Massaschusetts, looks to build on his victory from Lion Fight 40 as he takes on upset-minded Jonathan George of Lourton, Virginia. Also part of the pro prelims, Cambridge, Massachusetts product Soap Am, who was born in the U.S. but is a popular figure in the Cambodian community, slides into a super lightweight matchup against Dwayne Holman of Lodi, New Jersey.

An undercard bout featuring Julian Nguyen will be confirmed shortly.
