Thailand recorded 14 new COVID-19 cases today (Saturday), which is the biggest single day spike for many weeks, all among returnees in state quarantine.
According to the CCSA, 12 of the new infections are among Thais returning from Sudan, and one each from the United States and Bahrain.
The new cases have driven cumulative infections in Thailand, to date, to 3,216. One more patient recovered today, bringing recoveries to 3,088, with 70 still in hospital. Total deaths are unchanged at 58.
Globally, cumulative infections are 12,625,155, with the United States recording the highest number, at 3,291,786, followed by Brazil’s 1,804,338, India’s 822,603 and Russia’s 713,936. Thailand is currently ranked 100th.
