Travel competition: Win an idyllic break in a hideaway overlooking the Cornish coast

Travel competition: Win an idyllic break in a hideaway overlooking the Cornish coast
Written by Travel Adventures

Previously a 1920’s tearoom, this beautifully-renovated beach shack sits on a grassy knoll over North Cornwall’s rocky coastline in the small valley of Millook. The winner and their guest can enjoy the rewards of The Beach Hut’s seclusion: waking up to the sound of rolling waves, beholding a pollution-free night sky brandished with stars and stepping from the hut’s front door onto a pretty pebbled beach, with a picnic in tow – all post-lockdown balm. During the day, Milook Haven Beach is a magnet for surfers whose tricks can be observed from the hut’s veranda over a cup of tea, brewed on the stove. The prize includes a four-night midweek stay or a three-night stay, if taken over a weekend.

To reach this heavenly hut, the prize also includes a four-day rental of a Range Rover Velar, courtesy of THE OUT, allowing the winner and their guest to explore the local area (including the popular harbour towns of Bude and Boscastle) and scout out some of the UK’s prettiest beaches and outdoor eating spots.

But with sweeping Poldark-style views out to sea from the cosy, white-washed walls of the hut, there’s little incentive to leave – Hollywood stars have been known to hole up here for days on end. With a soft, super-king size bed, a log burner for chilly evenings and a wet room for rinsing off sandy bodies. The winner can relish their final sunset and fish and chips from the time-warped veranda, dancing along the jagged cliff formations, before heading back to London in style to drop off the Range Rover Velar.

Contestants must be over the age of 25 with a valid drivers licence held for at least one year and collection points are limited to Greater London, Gatwick or Heathrow airport.

‘A short break’ constitutes Mon-Fri (mid-week, four nights) or Fri- Mon (weekend, 3 nights).

This competition closes on 27 August 2020.

To be in with a chance of winning, answer the question below.

From which famous Cornish beach did Lord Alfred Tennyson sit and watch ‘The glorious grass-green monsters of waves.’
