The best whisky tips with Glenmorangie

Glenmorangie’s whisky distillery lies in Tain, Ross-shire, on Scotland’s rugged east coast. This stretch of the northern Highlands has a long legacy of whisky production, with Glenmorangie itself founded in 1843 by William Matheson. With more than 170 years behind it and Moët Hennessy now at its helm, Glenmorangie has a wide variety of official bottlings to try, including its 12-year-old single malt Nectar d’Or (extra-matured in French barriques from Sauternes, with brioche and croissant notes), the 12-year-old single malt Lasanta (extra-matured in Spanish sherry casks for a smoother, sweeter taste) and the 10-year-old single malt Ardbeg 10 (a deeper, peaty character with lime, toffee and currant notes pulling through).

In this video, director of distilling, whisky creation and whisky stocks Dr Bill Lumsden offers us a crash course in single malt Scotch whisky. Discover how you should drink it and learn how to make an easy whisky cocktail at home, plus get top tips for choosing whisky as a present.
