After a courageous five year battle with cancer, Thitima “Waen” Sudsunthorn died at Siriraj Hospital on Friday afternoon, July 7, 2017. The cancer started in one of her breasts before expanding rapidly to her bones and colon through the course of five years, She was only 54.

Her untimely passing was followed by messages of condolences through social media by friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry, and her fans.
The bathing ceremony for her body is scheduled for 2:00PM on Monday at Thatthong Temple in the Ekkamai area.
The Abhidharma praying ceremony will be held from Monday to Friday, starting at 5pm. The cremation is scheduled for July 15 at the temple.
Thitima, known as “Waen” was a music pioneer among the first group of singers who were signed by the giant music company GMM Grammy in 1984. She rose to stardom two years later with her hit songs “Rao Mee Rao” (We Have Each Other), “Fah Yang Mee Fon” and “Red Diary”.
A concert fundraiser that was scheduled for Monday will go ahead as planned. It will involve almost 100 singers who will pay tribute by singing Thitima’s hit song “Rao Mee Rao”.
Waen is survived by her husband, Banjerd Krissanayuth, and their daughter, Temfah Krissanayuth.
