A Las Vegas judge has raised bail to $50,000 for Daniel Stakleff, the man accused of killing 23-year-old Joree Odabi in a suspected DUI crash.
The decision, handed down Monday morning by Judge Joe Bonaventure, comes nearly two months after Stakleff was initially granted bail at just $5,000sparking public backlash and outcry from the victims family.

Joree Odabi was walking in his neighborhood on May 6 when police say Stakleff veered off the road near Warm Springs and Torrey Pines and struck him. Investigators later confirmed Stakleff had marijuana vape paraphernalia in his vehicle and, according to the Clark County district attorney Steve Wolfson, THC levels more than seven times the legal limit.
The $50,000 bail is still far lower than the $250,000 originally requested by prosecutors.
The Odabi family tells Channel 13 that todays outcome marks a step forwardbut not a finish line.
