From Amusement parks, National Parks to archeological sites, Thailand has numerous places that will catch the attention of your little ones. While on your trip, you must include the popular UNESCO World Heritage sites, the pride of Thailand. Listed below are some of the most popular sites that you must add to your Thai itinerary. 

1.The Historic City Of Ayutthaya

Among the most popular places to visit in thailand with your kids, Ayutthaya is a must. Located in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district, it is one of the first places to be added in the estimable UNESCO list of World Heritages. Despite being majorly in ruins now, it holds within, the ancient tales of the land. Given its historic importance, Ayutthaya is one of the most culturally rich cities in Thailand.   

2.Thungyai-Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuaries

Located alongside the border of Myanmar, in western Thailand, it covers the provinces of Uthai Thai, Tak, and Kanchanaburi. Interesting wildlife watching location in Thailand, it is known for its clear visibility in the jungle and as a great bird watching site. The species found in the sanctuary are a mix of four different biogeographic zones; Indo-Burmese, Indo-Chinese, Sundaic and Sino-Himalayan with some rare, endangered and endemic species as well. Besides the wildlife, the sanctuary is also known to be a good place for hiking trails. 

 

3.Ban Chiang Archeological Site, Udon Thani

Originally discovered in 1957, it was added to the UnESCO list of World Heritage sites in 1992. The Ban Chiang Archaeological Site is a prehistoric human habitation and burial site and is now popular for its attractive, red-painted pottery. The site is an excellent learning experience for those with an interest in evolution, and definitely worth a visit when touring Northern Thailand.  

4.Sukhothai and Associated Historic Towns

Sukhothai and Associated Historic Towns consist of  Sukhothai historical park, Kamphaeng Phet historical park and Si Satchanalai historical park. The capital of the first Kingdom of Siam in the 13th and 14th centuries, Sukhothai was added to the list in 1991. Presently, the region showcases ruins form the past that envelope within, the blended ancient history of Thailand and Buddhist culture. 

 

5.Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex, Prachinburi, Nakhon Nayok

The latest addition to the list, the Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex that spans between Ta Phraya National Park on the Cambodian border in the east, and Khao Yai National Park in Western Thailand. Awaiting you at the park are rare and endangered species and extrinsic flora. The complex was added to the list in 2005, taking the number of additions in total to 5.
