Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn summoned to acknowledge money laundering charges

Enquiry officers from Bangkok’s Thung Song Hong police station have issued a summons for Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn, the deputy national police chief, to acknowledge money laundering charges, in connection with the BNKMaster online gambling website, which has been closed by the police and is under investigation.

The summons will be delivered to Surachate at his residence in Vibhavadi Rangsit Soi 60 by the enquiry officers, according to informed police sources.

The sources said that a copy of the summons and a letter explaining the case against Surachate will also be sent to Pol Gen Torsak Sukvimol, the national police chief, in accordance with regulations concerning charges filed against senior police officers.

On March 12th, the Ratchadapisek Criminal Court issued warrants for the arrests of three other police officers and acivilian, also on money laundering charges related to the same investigation.  The four suspects are Pol Col Kittichai, Pol Sgt Natthawut, Pol Sgt Natthanan and “Napansakorn”.
