St Patrick’s Day in London has long been a cause for celebration. The English capital is home to many Irish expats, and several others who can trace their ancestry back to the emerald isle. More often than not, such events are frequented by travellers who have fallen in love with the beautiful landscapes, historic sites, cultural finds and luxurious hotels in Ireland – or those who are yet to visit, despite a penchant for a pint of Guinness. Here, we’ve rounded up some of the best events for St Patrick’s Day in London, from spectacular supper clubs to late-night hideouts carrying on the party well into the early hours.
40FT Brewery and Acme Fire Cult, Dalston
Two of East London’s liveliest hideouts are teaming up for a tasty St Patrick’s Day celebration – live-fire restaurant Acme Fire Cult and Dalston’s 40ft Brewery. The team at Bord Bia are supplying some of Ireland’s freshest produce, so expect award-winning grass-fed beef and seafood treats transformed into one-off dishes by chefs Andrew Clarke and Daniel Watkins. The party continues late into the night across the venues, so expect to hydrate on pints of earthy Irish stouts as DJs keep things going until 2am.

The Audley Public House, Mayfair
It has already secured the title of Mayfair’s trendiest new watering hole, and now The Audley is ready to show what it can do regarding saintly celebrations. Some of the best traditional Irish players in the country, including Pat Mahon and Rita Farrell are playing jolly jigs to attract the after-work crowds. However, the light bites available in the downstairs bar – there’s a swankier restaurant upstairs that recently launched Sunday roasts, FYI – are enough of a reason to visit regardless of music taste. Watch steaming bechamel ooze from the Guinness rarebit or tuck into the tastiest sausage roll for miles around. Not a Guinness lover but keen to get in on the action? Alongside the stout, the pub stocks beer from independent supplier Sambrook’s Brewery in Battersea. They’re one of the oldest breweries in London, so expect to feel delightfully refreshed.
