The Criminal Court today issued a summons for Deputy National Police Commissioner Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn for allegedly being involved in laundering money from an online gambling operation.
The summons comes after Deputy Metropolitan Police Commissioner Pol Maj Gen Tinnakorn Rangmart asked the court to issue arrest warrants for five individuals, including Surachate.
The Court deemed Surachate to be a high-ranking officer and thus decided to summon him to acknowledge the charges, rather than issuing an arrest warrant. Of the four facing warrants, three are also police officers and one is a civilian.
The request to the Court identified the online gambling network as “BNK Master”.
