Taylor Swift gets government grant to perform in Singapore.

The upcoming Taylor Swift concerts in Singapore have received financial support from the Singapore government in the form of a grant, as reported by the Straits Times online.

Tourism-related sectors, such as hospitality, retail, travel, and dining, are likely to benefit from the concerts, as other cities in which the pop superstar has performed have been.

This information comes in the form of a joint statement issued by the Singapore Tourism Board and the Ministry of Culture, Community, and Youth in response to online queries.

“Singapore has much to offer as a destination for large-scale international events, with our strategic location, quality infrastructure, safety, efficiency, and diverse cultural offerings,” read the statement.

The issue of Singapore’s granting of financial support for Swift’s concerts was recently raised by the Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin.

He said that he had just learned about the Singapore government’s financial support for Swift’s concerts, offering up to US$3 million per show to be exclusively performed in Singapore.
