The Miss Asian North America Pageant made it’s premier on Saturday, July 9th, 2016 at the beautiful Venation Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Annie Chang-Evans founded the pageant in 2013 as Miss Asian Las Vegas. In order to broaden her vision of reaching a wider audience she appropriately renamed it Miss Asian North America.
The re-branding attracted delegates from around the world who inspired to become the first crowned Miss Asian North America. This year was filled with beautiful young ladies from Las Vegas and other corners of the world.
The 2016 titles went to Angela Zhang, Miss Teen Asian North America, Lan Do, Miss Asian North America, and Kanchan Farkiya, Ms. Asian North America.
These ladies spoke with such passion and conviction, I look forward to seeing them accomplish their goals during their tenure.
Lan Do, the New Miss Asian North America 2016, was particularly impressive in the way she represented herself throughout the competition. She is poised, well spoken, and possess a natural quality of genuinity. She is clearly memorable and stood out during the preliminary competition on July 8th, 2016, she also earned the title of Miss Congeniality. She was among the many beautiful delegates representing Vietnam this year, we don’t usually see many Vietnamese representatives in the completions. It is safe to covey that this transpired under the leadership of Duy Nguyen, the pageants new Executive Director. Duy is a native of Vietnam, and is highly involved in the AAPI Communities and consistently working to improve equality for Asian Americans. This is a winning formula for even more achievements to come.
Congratulations to everyone at the Miss Asian North America Pageant, and the Venetian Hotel & Casino on the fourth successful year of hosting the event.
