The Bangkok South Criminal Court has rejected bail applications for six suspects charged with the murder of a Pathumwan Institute of Technology student, only identified as “Waravut”, fearing that they may either try to escape or attempt to interfere with witnesses.
Relatives of the six suspects were at the court yesterday to apply for bail, to which the police objected on the grounds that the alleged offences are serious and carry stiff penalties, so they might try to evade justice.
After the bail hearing, all six suspects were taken back to Bangkok Remand Prison for further detention.
Three other suspects, who were denied bail on Wednesday, are on remand in the same prison.
The alleged nine suspects attacked Waravut and a friend in front of the Pathumwan college on the night of January 26th. Waravut was stabbed to death.
