A six-year old boy was seriously injured yesterday (Saturday) when he opened a bag, which had been abandoned in a playground near his house in Chachoengsao province, and explosive material contained in the bag detonated.
The boy suffered injuries to both hands and eyes and was rushed to Buddhasothorn Hospital.
A police investigation indicates that the boy and his brothers were in the playground when he found the bag on a swing.
The boy’s grandmother told police that she believes the bag belonged to a group of teenagers who were frequently seen gathering there. CCTV cameras in the area were out of order at the time of the incident.
