Hundreds of Myanmar people rallied in front of the Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok to demand an end to violence in their home country, on the second anniversary of the military coup in 2021, which ousted the government of National League of Democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
The demonstrators, many of them migrant workers in Thailand, displayed pictures of Aung San Su Kyi, NLD flags and shouted for the resignation of Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the coup leader.
Meanwhile, another group of Myanmar people demonstrated in front of the United Nations building, to protest against the military regime in Myanmar, demanding an end to the war being waged by the junta against pro-democracy and ethnic groups.
The protesters handed over a letter, addressed to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, urging the international community to press the junta for the release of all political prisoners and an end to the violence in Myanmar.
The protests were peaceful and protesters dispersed.
